Certificate required.
No dwelling, building, structure or land shall be occupied or used until a certificate
of occupancy has been issued for such occupancy or use, which occupancy or use shall
be in compliance with this chapter, including approved site plans as applicable. No
structure or land shall be occupied by a changed use or occupancy until a certificate
of occupancy for the changed use has been issued.
(b)
Temporary certificate of occupancy.
If the applicant can show prior substantial compliance with this chapter and can demonstrate
need, the building department may issue a temporary certificate of occupancy for a
period of not more than six months.
